We have come up with a few ideas as a group - please comment below with any others you come across! - Prison outreach - distribution of Qur'ans (maybe rugs or other things if we're allowed)
- parks clean up
- hospital chaplaincy (pray with people, read with them, etc)
- errands and/or household tasks for seniors

I think those a great ideas but I'd like to shift our focus to things we can do collectively. I put together a quick list of ideas after Saad's talk last night. Please comment and expand.
1. I just became approved for volunteering at the Cleveland Clinic main campus emergency department.
2. Fatima to spearhead volunteer information session for providing homeless with food and other things she already does.
3. Look for existing systems to be part of such as soup kitchens, habitat for humanity, refugee aid collection (financial or otherwise), etc. Educational systems - getting books and computers for communities in the inner city.
4. Free Arabic and Quran programs? We need to connect with our inner city community and see what they're up to. How can we help? How can we assist their efforts with our most valuable asset - time?
5.How can we engage our youth to be part of these movements consistently instead of sitting around smoking pot and playing video games? Who has a skill they can teach? Cooking? Computers/tech? Personal finance? Arabic? Quran?
6. Offer tutoring time for youth and anyone who needs it. We can setup time slots to be at the mosque and people can show up at different levels and ask questions, get help with homework, study for exams, etc. I have always wanted to create a safe, nurturing space for people like myself who want to study and get guidance from people who have already walked the oath I am perusing.
7. Entrepreneur club. We help people develop their ideas into concrete plans and connect them with people who can make their idea a successful endeavour.
8. Many of us have jobs where the company we work for hosts community service events or opportunities to donate. We should have a place that hero's track of these events in do we can all participate.
We should focus on projects we can do together. We should pick a few of these items and focus on just those.
Nonetheless, there are things we can do individually, depending on skill sets, availability, and interest. Think about yourself. What are you good at that would be beneficial to the greater community. This us just a start. Let me know what you think.

I have put in quite the interest base to learn Tajweed or proper recitattion of the Qur'an per Hafs An Aasim rules that I would like to share with others as a teacher. but instead of focusing on Volunteering to do so, I would first rather discuss an actual network that youth can refer to whilst interested in learning tajweed and to then become part of this network of teachers who would ideally work at different locations in the country. I think the Madinah project has the potential to become a renowned group of individuals interested in serving others, and this reference point can be created through connections but to establish this point is more worthwhile I think, for myself.
